Privacy

Accuracy
Use fully qualified canonical URLs. Relative paths, redirects, blocked URLs, and duplicate variants make sitemap review less useful.
Lastmod should reflect meaningful page changes, not automatic daily refreshes or cosmetic footer updates.
Compatibility
Large sites need multiple sitemaps or a sitemap index once file size or URL count limits are reached.
Google can ignore priority and changefreq values, so treat those fields as optional hints rather than ranking signals.
