This guide walks you through every feature of Rune's Online Clipboard — from basic sending to advanced options like self-destruct and QR code sharing.
Sending Content
Step 1: Choose Content Type
Before pasting, select the appropriate type:
- Plain Text: Notes, messages, URLs
- Code: Programming snippets (enables syntax highlighting)
- Markdown: Formatted notes with headings and lists
Step 2: Paste Your Content
Click the text area and paste:
- Windows/Linux: Ctrl+V
- Mac: Cmd+V
- Mobile: Long-press and select "Paste"
Step 3: Select Language (Code Mode)
When you choose Code mode, select the programming language for syntax highlighting — JavaScript, Python, HTML, CSS, and 20+ more.
Step 4: Enable Self-Destruct (Optional)
For sensitive content, toggle on "Burn After Reading." Content will be permanently deleted after first retrieval.
Step 5: Send
Click Send. You'll receive:
- A unique code (e.g., "ABC123")
- A shareable link
- A QR code option
Receiving Content
Step 1: Get the Code
The sender shares a code via text, email, or verbally.
Step 2: Enter and Retrieve
- Navigate to the clipboard
- Enter the code in the Receive section
- Click Retrieve
- Copy the content for use
Using QR Codes
Generate
After sending, click the QR Code button to display a scannable code.
Scan
- iPhone: Open Camera, point at QR, tap notification
- Android: Open Camera or Google Lens, point at QR, tap link
QR codes are faster than typing — especially for phone-to-computer transfers.
Using History
Your last 10 clipboard entries are saved locally in your browser:
- Open the History section
- Click any previous entry
- Code auto-enters for quick retrieval
Note: History is browser-specific and stored locally — it doesn't sync across devices.
